Patti Fasson
Patricia is a cradle-Catholic, raised in Southern California, the second of six children born to Charles and Helen Paul. In 1979, she met James Fason and they married the following year. Their blissful union produced three beautiful children. They moved to Jupiter, Florida, in 1984 and opened a chain of computer stores. Patricia immersed herself in serving the Church in various volunteer capacities; teaching sacrament classes, running the junior high youth group, cleaning the Church and altar linens and organizing and training altar servers. In 1990, she received a profound call to serve Our Lord more intimately. One year later her husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness and two years after that, he passed away. She continued to raise her children alone, work for the Church and home school her children.
In 2002, when her second child left home to attend the US Naval Academy, Patricia suffered the loss of her home, all her belongings and her and her youngest son’s health. Her daughter brought her and her youngest son, to Tallahassee to care for them and help them to recover. While convalescing, Patricia searched the internet for a prayer card she had purchased during her and her husband’s travels years earlier with a novena to the Precious Blood on it. It was June 2004. Through the providence and guidance of God, she came into contact with Bishop Ayo-Maria Atoyebi, Bishop of the Ilorin Diocese, and the Apostolate of the Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, both in Nigeria. They asked her to look over the English translation of their prayer book and see why it was Americans were throwing it away. She worked with the visionary, Barnabas Nwoye, a few members of their Apostolate and Bishop Ayo-Maria for seven months to produce the manuscript for the prayer book.
On the Feast of the Visitation, May 31, 2005, a group of dedicated prayer warriors and three priests formed the Apostolate of the Precious Blood here in America. At their Bishop’s request, they changed their name to the Association of the Precious Blood on October 1, 2007. Their mission is to spread this devotion to the Precious Blood of Jesus to the ends of the earth before the appearance of the antichrist and offer help to the poor as needed.
